Safe Harbor

Leaving situations involving violence is a very scary time. We provide a safe and secure place for men, women or children who are fleeing a violent situation. We shelter victims for a temporary period of time while they are looking for a new, safe place to live. Advocates provide confidential and free services to survivors of family violence and sexual assault. They assist with protections orders, safety planning, offer support and provide information about community resources. Safe Harbor advocates work with law enforcement, the State’s Attorney office, and healthcare professionals as needed.

Safe Harbor Kids Konnection is a program that offers a safe neutral environment for children to have visits or exchanges with their parents. The visitation center gives the parent(s) and children an opportunity to establish and maintain positive interactions with each other. Exchanges allow children to be safely transferred from one parent to the other without being involved in adult situations that may occur between the parents.
